SuperSport United defeated Ajax Cape Town 2-0 in an Absa Premiership clash at the Cape Town Stadium on Saturday night.
Our first game without Roger De Sa in charge of the Urban Warriors ended in defeat thanks to an early penalty from Matsatsantsa striker Jeremy Brockie and late strike by Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
But that was not the problem, during the course of the day it was next to impossible to purchase a match day ticket.
After checking on social media it was communicated that tickets Will be sold at the stadium. Upon arrival at the Stadium 45 minutes before kickoff the ticket office was closed because they were too sold out.
Let me remind you that I am a season ticket holder and brought 5 kids and 2 adults along with me and we were stranded along with about 300 other football fans. Of which the majority turned around and got in there cars heading back home.
As for my crew we begged and bought tickets from passers by at the stadium. We got into the stadium 30 minutes into the match.
Question: How could the tickets possibly be sold out if there was less than 5000 football fans in the stadium?
I am personally very disappointed by today’s developments and disregard for the fans.
