Ajax Cape Town chairman Ari Efstathiou is adamant that prodigious defender Rivaldo Coetzee will not be sold to a Premiership club.
Media reports have suggested that Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns are open to offloading Wayde Arendse and replacing him with the 19-year-old Ajax player.
Arendse is his final year of his contract with the Brazilians and is yet to negotiate an extension.
Coetzee, meanwhile, has been fine form and is currently representing South Africa at the Olympic Games in Brazil.
“First of all, no-one from Mamelodi Sundowns came to me with an offer for Rivaldo,” Efstathiou told KickOff.
“Even if they did, I wouldn’t sell. Rivaldo is not for sale. I will only sell him to a European team, not in the PSL.
“He is young and one of our best players. Last night against Brazil he proved that he can hold his own against the best players in the world. He is not for sale.”
Ajax have reportedly placed a R15-million price tag on the Bafana Bafana international.
