Mosa Lebusa say new defence will add value to the team

Ajax Cape Town defender and vice-captain Mosa Lebusa believes Eric Chipeta, Thabo Mosadi and Joachim Lupeta will add a lot of value to the Urban Warriors

The trio are amongst the new faces at the Mother City outfit having been brought on to add more stability and quality after the departures of Asive Langwe, Franklin Cale, Ruzaigh Gamildien, Ashely Hartog, Abbubaker Mobara, Riyaad Norodien and most recently Anssi Jaakkola.

“l think all of them have their own different qualities and they bring a complete new dimension to our team so we are all really happy with their arrivals,” Lebusa told Goal .

“I think up front with Joachim, the more competition we have for places, the better for us and for our individual strikers. Eric [Chipeta] we all know him from Chippa and we all know what he can do. He is very strong, experienced and he is going to be very good for us definitely.

“Thabo [Mosadi], we all know he is from Tuks and he always gave us a hard time and we are all glad he is on our side finally. He torments defenders for fun.

“But I think all three are quality players and they will bring a lot of quality into our team.”

Meanwhile Lebusa also admitted that Jaakkola’s departure will be most felt by the side having made so much impact in his three-year stay.

“I think we all know what he can do, and he played a huge role for us in winning the MTN8 and his departure will be greatly missed,” he stressed.

“But at the same time it opens doors for Brandon [Petersen] and Jody [February] who I believe are more than ready to step up and claim the number one jersey.”
