English Championship side Reading FC are reportedly interested in signing Ajax Cape Town’s first-choice goalkeeper Anssi Jaakkola.
The towering goal-minder helped the Urban Warriors clinch the MTN8 Cup after beating their more-fancied opponents Kaizer Chiefs in the final last year.
According to a South African football publication Soccer Laduma, Jaakkola is now on the radar of Reading ahead of the 2016/17 season.
It is believed that Ajax are open to selling during the current Transfer Window rather than lose him for free next year when his contract expires.
Before joining the Urban Warriors at the beginning of the 2013/14 season, the 29-year-old giant shot-stopper was in the books of Scottish side Kilmarnock.
He managed to settle down quickly at the Ikamva side and established himself as one of the top shot-stoppers in South Africa’s elite league, the Absa Premiership.
During the 2015/16, Jaakkola only missed four of Ajax’s 30 Absa Premiership matches.
